The road you can see is a nice snowy, slushy, slippery mess... this started on Sunday. They kept threatening snow, blizzards and if you listen to the local news the end of the world was coming. They had reporters on the bridges watching the snow and traffic. Bridges freeze before the roads in winter, that's just how it is, what a good idea to put people out on bridges in a snowstorm! UGH!
This looks entirely too much like the same photo from the post last year. The snow fell Sunday... and Monday and then the sun came out and the temperatures dropped below freezing. The tire shops had longer lines than Starbucks from people who decided at the last minute they needed tire chains or studs on their cars to drive in the "treacherous" conditions. Did I mention we had about 3 inches in the valley? Wednesday freezing rain was forecast although we never saw it, I worked most of the day and left about 1/2 hour early when I got a call that the roads near home were freezing as the temps dropped for the night and ice in a state that doesn't use road salt is not nice.
I have the weather channel on now, the forecast calls for hurricane winds... up to a foot of snow AND freezing rain. I wonder if we'll manage one out of the three? Ugh.. i still have to finish my Christmas shopping this weekend and get it in the mail
